Kyra Minturn

 Kyra Minturn, born on August 19 1965, is an American actress. She also works as a producer and director. Her most prominent role is that of Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson, on TNT's crime series The Closer. Sedgwick received an Emmy Award in 2010 and a Golden Globe Award for 2007 for her portrayal of Johnson. The series ended after the seventh season. Sedgwick is also well-known for her regular role in the role of Madeline Wuntch on the sitcom Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Sedgwick was nominated for an Golden Globe award for her performance in Something to Talk About (1995). Sedgwick's film appearances include Oliver Stone's Born on the Fourth of July (1989) and Cameron Crowe's Solos (1992), Heart and Souls (93), Phenomenon (2000) and What's cooking (2000) as well as Secondhand Lions (2003). She also starred in The Game Plan (2007) and The Possession (2012). Sedgwick was the daughter of Patricia Rosenwald, a speech and family therapist, and Henry Dwight Sedgwick IV Venture capitalist. Her birthplace was in New York City. Her mother was Jewish. Her dad was Episcopalian of English descent. Sedgwick has declared publicly her Jewish heritage and has said she participates in Passover seders.
